This deviation is very, very suggestive in a lot of small, but powerful ways. At first glance, when one sees the deviation, it looks perfect. There are three puzzle pieces, and they've been put together, and it makes an equation saying Female + Male = Love. However, once one looks closer, one starts noticing the number of things that are wrong with the elements in this picture. (The puzzle pieces - not the picture itself - the picture is perfect). The puzzle pieces don't fit together exactly, especially the giant visible crack between the two people, which seems to very accurately represent the way love is sometimes not perfect - the participants just make it fit together. Still, like the puzzle, the two people usually tend to be able to stay together for at least a while, as the puzzle pieces would. Something else that is very significant to the meanings in the deviation is the fact that the heart looks as if it was cut out of the puzzle piece, making it a void. This seems to just emphasize the fact that Love is nothing. It is just an idea, and is whatever we make it, whatever we place into it. Love is a void that we fill with whatever we think about it. The heart is a nice touch, adding a spark of contrast to it, and seeming to add more depth to the photograph by adding an instance of dead life, also symbolizing the way some people are zombified by love. (Okay, I'm starting to make this stuff up now. I think I should stop here.)

Over all, this is a very successful piece that captures at least a facet of the essence of love very well. Good work.
